Sustainability

Sustainability

Mericon AS wishes to step up the focus on sustainability in our business performance. In this work we have chosen to concentrate on three of UN’s  Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) :

  • SDG no 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
  • SDG no 8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all
  • SDG no 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

By including the SDGs in our business model, we will keep a stronger focus on sustainability, climate and environment and at the same time we hope to inspire others across our value chain.

CERTIFICATION

In this process Mericon has been certified as an Eco-Lighthouse company. This certification will contribute to document our efforts in being an environmental-friendly CRO.

Eco-Lighthouse is Norway’s most widely used certification scheme for enterprises seeking to document their environmental efforts and demonstrate social responsibility operated by the Eco-Lighthouse Foundation.

The foundation was established in 2003 by central organizations in business and public administration.

In 2015 the Eco-Lighthouse applied for recognition in accordance with Article 45 of the REGULATION (EC) No 1221/2009 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 25 November 2009 on the voluntary participation by organisations in a Community eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS).
